It’s election day the district of Fogo Island-Cape Freels.
The seat has been vacant since January following the passing of Liberal cabinet minister Derrick Bragg after a short battle with cancer.
Bragg’s former constituency assistant, Dana Blackmore is in the running for the Liberals, Jim Gill represents the NDP, while Jim McKenna is seeking the nod for the PCs.
During advance polling one week ago 732 votes were cast across the communities of Carmanville, Change Islands, Fogo Island Centre, and Wesleyville.
The polls are open today from 8 a.m. to 8 p.m., with the results coming out shortly thereafter.
