Arts NL has received a boost from the provincial government to the tune of $3 million as part of Year of the Arts.
Executive Director Melanie Martin sums up how the funding will be used by saying “very wisely.”
She says over the last few years they have seen an uptick in artists coming to them for support so the funding will be used to help top up some of their existing programs. Martin also reveals that some of the money will go toward a few new pilot projects.
Some of the pilots include the senior artist program, which was just launched in March, and a program for Indigenous artists—the details of which will be announced in the coming weeks.
