The MHA for Fogo Island-Cape Freels is concerned with the latest issues facing the provincial ferry system.
Jim McKenna was responding to the fire on board the Flanders this week that has taken the vessel out of operation for the foreseeable future.
The Beaumont Hamel is now joining the Legionnaire on the busy Bell Island run, but McKenna wants to know what the plan is going forward as the province shuffles available ferries around.
McKenna says Fogo Island and Change Islands are now being serviced by the privately-sourced Kamutik W which is scheduled to go into dry dock on May 21.
The Veteran meanwhile is still in dry dock with some indications that its return to service might be delayed by another two months.
McKenna says residents are frustrated with a lack of information and he wants an update from the minister about “what vessel is going where.”
