The province is dolling out over $162,000 through the MMSB’s Community Waste Diversion Fund to 17 projects across the province in support of sustainable waste management.
The recipients of the funding were announced in the Town of Harbour Main-Chapel’s Cove-Lakeview on Friday.
That community is receiving $21,683 for the launch of a community curbside organic waste collection program.
Other projects receiving funding focus on things such as food waste diversion, community composting, yard waste diversion and reduction of single use plastics.
