Police are seeking information following multiple reports of shots fired toward at least two vehicles in the capital city’s west end on Thursday.
Trista Oram says her husband was driving along Topsail Road, near the Brookfield fire station, when a white BMW began to aggressively tailgate him.
He reports that the driver then pulled alongside, drew what he thinks was a BB gun, and fired at the side of his car. The suspect car then stopped in the middle of the road, according to Oram’s husband, and “attempted” more shots, made a U-turn and sped toward the Village Shopping Centre.
They chalked it up to road rage.
Oram says she couldn’t believe what had happened, saying her heart sank when she saw the damage to the side of their vehicle, noting most of the shots hit the rear passenger door by their three-year-old’s car seat.

The child was not in the car at the time, she said.
The RNC confirms they are looking into that incident, and reports of a second vehicle being shot at between 5:30 and 6 p.m. on Topsail Road between Brookfield Road and Burgeo Street.
Const. James Cadigan says the suspect vehicle is described as a white, two-door BMW with red trim, with a heavy-set East Indian man behind the wheel and a female passenger of similar descent.
He’s asking any witnesses or people with dashcam footage of the incident to come forward.
Oram says she has already heard from potential witnesses, “including one person who thinks they may have caught the incident on their dashcam, and another who believes the vehicle may belong to a person who lives on their street.”
She’s hoping those people, or anyone with knowledge of the incident, will report it to either the RNC or Crime Stoppers.
