The St. John’s Regional Fire Department is advising the public of a notification from UL Solutions that a Wi-Fi Smoke Detector being marketed under the Jllom brand bears an unauthorized UL certification mark.
UL Solutions is a global safety science company that provides certification on products that meet applicable safety regulations and standards.
The St. John’s Regional Fire Department says the smoke detector in question has not been evaluated by UL Solutions to appropriate safety standards and it is not known if the product complies with any safety requirements.
UL Solutions is recommending that anyone who may have the smoke detector in question installed in their home or business to remove the unit(s) and replace it with a UL Certified smoke detector.
