A political analyst says the most interesting aspect of the by-election in Waterford Valley last week was the surge in support for the NDP in the district.

Eric Grenier of The Writ in Ottawa followed the by-election live, and says the Liberals got the win, but should be worried about the support shown to the NDP candidate, Nicole Boland.

“Look at that NDP vote in a St. John’s riding and be a little worried that they got 23 per cent of the vote in a (riding) like that, where the only got 8 per cent last time.”
