WestJet will be expanding its direct routes to Europe from St. John’s, adding Paris, France and Dublin, Ireland to a seasonal direct route to Gatwick, London.

The province and local business leaders have long advocated for a direct air link between Europe and Newfoundland and Labrador.

The St. John’s International Airport Authority has entered an agreement with WestJet in partnership with the provincial government to operate a seasonal London-Gatwick flight four days a week.

In addition to that, WestJet will offer a direct St. John’s to Dublin flight two days a week and a direct St. John’s to Paris flight one day per week between May and October.
