A man has been arrested and charged with armed robbery after being caught early last night.

Security caught up with the 43-year-old as he was leaving the area of The Village Shopping Centre in St. John’s with unpaid merchandise while holding a weapon. They detained him after a brief struggle until RNC arrived.

He also faces charges of possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and failure to attend court on unrelated matters.
