A police officer was sent to hospital after being assaulted by a man he was trying to arrest after an incident in the centre city of St. John’s.
RNC were called in just before 6:00, charging a 28-year-old with assault with a weapon. He also turned on the arresting officer, and will be tagged with that charge when he appears in court.
The officer’s injuries were not life-threatening.
