The provincial fisheries department has updated the Fish Processing Licensing Policy Manual.
The updates are part of what the province says is a 10-point plan to expand on free enterprise and allow more flexibility in the fish price-setting process.
It’s hoped the measures will increase competition through increased processing capacity and strengthened controls over corporate concentration – two key areas of contention in last season’s massive fish protests at Confederation Building.
A copy of the updated manual can be found online.
