A search of a home in Carter’s Cove in central Newfoundland has resulted in the seizure of dozens of firearms, as well as a quantity of illicit drugs and cash, which resulted in the arrest of a 26-year-old man.
RCMP, including those from the Gander detachment, attended the home on Point Road in Carter’s Cove in Notre Dame Bay, armed with a warrant.
Inside, they found and seized 25 long-gun firearms, ammunition, and what they’re calling “a prohibited weapon.”
Meanwhile, more than 30 grams of cocaine were also seized, along with a quantity of crack cocaine, approximately 650 pills of various types, and more than $10,000 in cash.
The accused was arrested without incident and later released. The investigation continues, with a number of charges expected.
