Newfoundland and Labrador’s latest Rhodes Scholar is recent Memorial University graduate Meret Ebsary of St. John’s.
Ebsary will pursue her fully-funded graduate studies at Oxford University in the UK.
Ebsary graduated from Memorial with an honours degree in political science and is now working towards a master’s degree in global health, specializing in global health governance – inspired by the challenges caused by the COVID pandemic.
She says the sense of loss and grief caused by the pandemic caused her to ponder on the changes needed for healthcare systems to become more resilient in times of crisis.
