People in a neighbourhood on the edge of the Avalon lent a helping hand to police to solve a crime this week.
Twenty-seven year-old Jordan Mercer has been charged in connection with the theft of an ATV in Heart’s Delight on Monday. Somebody who broke into a residential shed in Heart’s Delight learned the hard way that the locals are not to be messed with. They held the man they believed responsible for stealing the quad, and waited until cops arrived.
RCMP believe that Mercer, who is also known as Jordan Oliver, is the same one who stole merchandise the previous night.
He was held overnight and appeared in court yesterday on charges of break and enter, theft, possession of property obtained by crime, damage to property under $5,000 and failing to comply with the conditions of a release order.
