All occupants, including the family cat, are safe after a stubborn fire in Mount Pearl late last night heavily damaged a home.
St. John’s Regional rushed to the scene just after 11:00, but Platoon Chief Derek Hunt said that the heavy smoke in the area made it difficult to locate the exact house. It was number 113 near Blossom Avenue.
There was heavy smoke and fire coming from the front of the house in the basement window and going up the eave of the house. Platoon Chief Hunt says they quickly laid down attack lines to get the upper hand.
He says four people were in the house at the time.
The RNC are investigating the cause.
