It should be clear sailing for Santa and his reindeer this evening over most of Newfoundland and Labrador.
A high pressure system means Santa shouldn’t encounter much in the way of turbulence as he makes his way across the province delivering presents.
It will be clear over most of Labrador tonight while the sky over the island will also start to clear out this evening.
Environment Canada meteorologist David Neil says Christmas Day is also looking like a fine day in most parts of the province.
“A lot of areas are going to see a really, really nice day on Christmas Day,” says Neil. “Just a few parts of the province could see a little flurry here and there, but generally speaking, it’s looking like a pretty decent day on Christmas Day.”
However, meteorologists are keeping an eye on a system that is forecast to bring snow to parts of Ontario, Quebec and New Brunswick and may affect parts of this province on Boxing Day.
“It looks like the storm will kind of get south of the island, and kind of hang around there for a little while,” says Neil. He doesn’t expect to see much impact until Christmas night or Boxing Day.
