A tip from the public led to the arrest of a suspected impaired driver on Boxing Day.
Clarenville RCMP say they received the anonymous tip shortly before 7 p.m. that evening.
They were able to track down the driver and subsequently found open liquor inside his vehicle.
They say the man failed to provide an adequate breath sample and was arrested for refusing the breathalyzer. His driver’s licence was suspended and the vehicle was impounded.
In a news release, the RCMP thanked the public “for continuing to report incidents of erratic or suspected impaired driving,” noting “road safety is everyone’s responsibility.”
