A suspicious character didn’t manage to stray very far from the authorities after he was caught rifling through vehicles parked at a downtown hotel.

RNC were called just after 1:00 this morning after staff caught the man breaking into cars parked in the hotel’s lot.

When they arrived, officers caught the man in the act and he decided to bolt on foot.

Police caught up to him after a brief chase and discovered that the 44-year-old was already on their wanted list.

He faces charges of mischief, possession of a break-in instrument, breach of court orders, and resisting arrest.

He was held for court.
