Two women stopped by police on the Goulds Bypass (Robert E. Howlett Drive) in St. John’s late yesterday morning decided to run for it instead.
They got out of the vehicle and ran into the woods, but the RNC tracked them down a short distance away.
The driver, a 26-year-old, was wanted on a previous theft charge and had been ordered by the courts not to operate a motor vehicle. She was also on probation.
The other woman was released without charge.
