The owner of a jewellery store in Conception Bay South who is calling it a career after this week says it’s important that people buy local—not just for his products, but for all products where possible.
Michael Walsh, who opened his store in Villa Nova Plaza in Manuels, is into the final week of his close-out plan. Walsh, who later moved the operation to the main highway in Kelligrews, says the industry has been good to him and his family.
Walsh says he knows that online shopping is going to continue to grow, but he says it’s also important to support local bricks and mortar.
“Whether it’s my business…people coming in and buying a watch battery or having a watch repaired—it’s important. Do whatever you can to support local whether it’s a restaurant, hair salon or whatever it might be,” says Walsh.
