Information collected on neighbourhood development plans for the university area and Cowan Heights will be presented to the St. John’s Committee of the Whole today.

The What We Heard documents compiled from public consultation show that housing, green space and improved transit are high among the priorities for the university area.

In Cowan Heights, parks and trails and improved amenities are among the priorities, with improved safety for pedestrians and cyclists, among others, high on the list.

Rising crime rates in the Cowan Heights neighbourhood is also a growing concern among residents, as is an increase in vermin – rats in particular.
