We will find out today when the country goes to the polls to elect a new government.
Prime Minister Mark Carney is expected to dissolve Parliament this afternoon as he seeks a new mandate from the electorate.
Caney is also expected to kick off the campaign in St. John’s tonight. His fisheries minister, St. John’s East MP Joanne Thompson, had a campaign kickoff event planned for this afternoon but has postponed it, presumably because of Carney’s arrival.
No details of Carney’s visit have been released by the PMO.
April 28 and May 5 are being kicked around as the likely election dates.
