The provincial government hosted a ceremony and unveiling at Confederation Building in St. John’s today recognizing the culture and historic significance of the Innu Nation.
The artwork, created by the late Patrick Nuke who passed away in 2023, conveys the tranquility and the sense of oneness of the Innu with the land.
The art will be installed and put on public display in the main lobby of Confederation Building in the weeks ahead.
Innu Nation Deputy Grand Chief Chris Rich and Cultural Guardian Jodie Ashini were on hand for today’s ceremony and unveiling.
