The Deer Lake Red Wings have captured game one of the Herder final with a 3-2 win over the Clarenville Caribous.
The game-winning goal was scored by Kristopher Thomas in triple overtime.
Game two goes tonight at the Hodder Memorial Arena at 7:30. The series switches to the east coast next weekend.
