One man has been charged with forcible confinement and assault following an incident in Stephenville over the weekend.

The RCMP were first called to a home just before 5:00 a.m. Sunday following reports of a disturbance.

They allege that a man was being held against his will by another man who had a weapon.

Thirty-six-year-old Randolph Perrier was arrested at the scene without further incident.

He appeared in court today on charges of assault with a weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose, forcible confinement, and failing to comply with a release order.
