Five Newfoundlanders have been named to Canada’s national softball team ahead of the 2025 World Cup in Saskatchewan.
Shane Boland from the Goulds will captain the team alongside Newfoundlanders Jordan Pomeroy, Colin Walsh, Bradley Ezekiel and Sean Cleary. Les Howley from C.B.S. will serve as an assistant coach on the team as well.
Currently, Canada is ranked 4th in the world and has three games penciled in for the tournament in Prince Albert, with matchups against New Zealand, Venezuela and Argentina.
The World Cup begins July 8th.
