Police are expected to provide more details this week after several young people were attacked with bear spray at a field party over the weekend.

At least one person was injured at the gathering in Torbay on Saturday night.

There has been no word on any arrests or exactly how many people were injured.

Such gatherings have been an issue for police in the past. Just a few weeks ago, several young people were also attacked with bear spray during a graduation party near Stephenville Crossing.

RNC issued a warning about unsupervised field parties last week, which become more frequent as the school year draws to a close.

Cst. James Cadigan says the gatherings are a major safety concern for all involved.
