The opposition PCs are questioning whether $8.2 million allocated for emergency housing will be enough for the upcoming year.
The province allocated over $8 million for emergency housing, but an ATIPP request by the PCs showed the province spent nearly $7 million over a seven-month span.
MHA Joedy Wall questioned Minister John Abbott, who says he will transfer more money to shelters if they exceed their budget.
Abbott says he will continue to “meet the needs” of people through housing, but noted he will go back to the Department of Finance if the $8.2 million doesn’t go far enough.
