More than $2.8 million was raised this weekend during the Janeway Children’s Miracle Network Telethon.
The event is the Janeway Foundation’s biggest fundraising campaign of the year.
Foundation President and CEO Rebecca Dutton says this year’s funds will help to buy echocardiograms.
“Dr. Megan Adams, who spoke on the telethon, came in and talked about these echocardiograms that they needed. And we kind of joked that we can definitely buy you one, and we’re gonna try really hard to buy you two,” says Dutton.
“And then we got confirmation that the government was going to come in with a $50,000 gift toward an echocardiogram. Then that made it much, much more likely that we were gonna get to the two, and we know now we’ll be able to buy the two.”
