Six local heritage properties have been awarded their share of $100,000 in grants for restoration work.
The properties include Drake House, a traditional home which was built in Haystack, Placentia Bay in 1890 and moved to Arnold’s Cove in the 1960s, and the Butler Property in Cupids
Our Lady of Mercy Museum in Port au Port West is also benefitting from the funding, as will Devon House which previously operated as a craft shop and gallery on the east end of Duckworth Street in St. John’s.
Two properties in historic Trinity, Trinity Bay will also receive funding. They are the first generation saltbox home known as Sexton/Wilansky House, built in 1852, and local landmark, St. Paul’s Anglican Church.
