A 27-year-old Corner Brook man was arrested on Wednesday in connection with an unusual incident near Margaret Bowater Park.

RNC were notified around noon on Wednesday about a disturbance on O’Connell Drive near the park and determined that a man had presented a weapon after approaching a woman who was driving in the area.

Officers determined that the same suspect had also allegedly caused damage to the same vehicle earlier in the day.

The suspect was arrested a short time later, and charged with assault with a weapon, and damage to property.

He was held in custody pending a court appearance.
