The RNC is seeking information following a harrowing situation that played out in Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s yesterday afternoon.
A vehicle left the road and went over a cliff on Beachy Cove Road around 4:00 p.m. on Sunday.

RNC say the car landed dangerously close to the water and members of the Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s Volunteer Fire Department, the St. John’s Regional Fire Department’s High Angle Rescue Team, paramedics, the Coast Guard and Avalon Towing joined RNC in stabilizing the vehicle and extracting its two occupants.
An elderly man and woman were sent to hospital with non-life-threatening injuries.
