The South East Coast Ground Search and Rescue in Labrador safely located a hiker in the Cape Charles area late last week.

Mary’s Harbour RCMP were notified of a hiker in distress last Friday. The hiker was located soon after in good condition, but tired from his unanticipated ordeal.

RCMP are thanking the South East Coast Ground Search and Recue for their quick response, along with the Coast Guard and area residents.

Police are urging hikers and adventurers to familiarize themselves with the areas they plan to explore before heading out, and to ensure that they have the proper equipment.
