The CEO of NL Hydro is inviting former premier Danny Williams to meet with Hydro officials so that he can better understand what the Churchill Falls MOU entails.
Jennifer Williams was responding to recent comments by the political architect of the Muskrat Falls development who suggested that the current MOU process be scrapped.
The former premier told VOCM News last week that the province will become the laughing stock if it doesn’t tear up the MOU with Quebec on future hydro development in Labrador.
Jennifer Williams says Quebec is giving up “free power” by cutting their deal short.
“The reason to do it is because it’s a fair and balanced deal as is. The price is not fixed,” she told reporters.
“Michael Sabia has said himself that the price increases over time. It is tied to markets. I find it difficult to understand why people make these assertions about it’s a fixed price or it’s a bad deal. Come in and we’ll talk to you and we’ll help you to understand it better.”
