A man has died following an assault in the centre city area earlier this week.

RNC were called to Salisbury Street around 12:30 Tuesday morning and found a man with serious injuries. He was rushed to hospital where he succumbed to his injuries yesterday.

Police have since arrested a 23-year-old man in connection with the attack. He’s facing charges of manslaughter, assault with a weapon, carrying a concealed weapon, possession of a weapon for a dangerous purpose and breach of probation.

He was held to appear in court.

RNC is seeking video footage from the area of Salisbury Street, Cairo Street, Newtown Road and Empire Avenue between 10:00 Monday night and 1:00 Tuesday morning.
