The NDP is repeating its call for government to remove the HST from home heating with another rate increase coming July 1st.
The PUB says the 7 cent increase in electricity rates effective July 1st would be more than double had it not been for what it calls rate smoothing applied by the board.
That’s not sitting well with NDP Leader Jim Dinn who questions how much of Newfoundland Power’s increase was influenced by shareholder profits.
He’s repeating his call for government to remove the HST from home heating.
