The Registered Nurses’ Union says a core nurse staffing review is long overdue, but it offers a glimmer of hope for nurses who it says have been holding the health care system together under “extraordinary strain.”
RNU President Yvette Coffey was responding to the review of a number of health care facilities in the province announced yesterday.
The RNU has been calling for a core staffing review for years, and Coffey calls it “unacceptable” that government has been trying to make critical decisions about health care staffing using data that is more than 30 years old.
