Former Premier Danny Williams says he has not received an invitation to meet with NL Hydro representatives about the MOU with Quebec, but at this stage he’d rather have an audience with premier John Hogan.
Last week, Hydro CEO Jennifer Williams responded to criticism of the deal by the former PC premier by inviting him to come meet with officials to help him understand the document better.
Danny Williams says he has not yet received such an invite. Moreover, he argues that he has read the document “dozens” of times, and he watched the debate in the house of assembly, so he feels that he has “heard everything that Hydro officials have had to say.”
That said, Williams would be “delighted” to get an invitation for a one-on-one meeting with premier John Hogan to discuss the topic.
He feels like he needs to go directly to the “decision maker” on the file, which is the premier and his cabinet, to “make them aware of the serious mistake they’re making in proceeding with this MOU.”
