Exploits Search and Rescue have rescued a man who suffered a medical emergency while out angling.
RCMP in Grand Falls-Windsor were contacted around 7:00 p.m. Thursday about a fisherman on the Exploits River who was in medical distress. The man was at the bottom of a steep embankment at the river’s edge, and the water was rising.
Police contacted the Exploits Search and Rescue who sent a team onto the river in a boat. They found the man and safely carried him to shore to a waiting ambulance.
He was taken to hospital for treatment and is expected to make a full recovery.
RCMP are offering their thanks to members of the Exploits Search and Rescue team for their work.
