A man who had no shoes and no shirt will get service at the lockup in St. John’s today.

The RNC first started getting calls about the man who smelled of alcohol just after 1 a.m..

When the officer approached the man, he walked out into the middle of the road and started swearing at law enforcement. He later approached the police officer and gave a push before challenging the cop to a fistfight.

Police say the man was not fond of the idea of being placed in handcuffs, so he now faces charges of assaulting a police officer, resisting arrest and breach of court orders.

He was held for court.
