A 28-year-old man has been arrested and charged for dangerous driving following an incident last night.
Bay St. George RCMP noticed a vehicle speeding in the Shallop Cove area just before midnight. Police did not pursue the vehicle in the interest of public safety, but later found the same vehicle in a ditch a short distance away.
The driver got out of the vehicle and ran into the nearby woods.
RCMP noticed Jordan Muise coming out of the woods before the police dog arrived. He was detained, but he tried to flee a second time and was taken into custody after a short struggle with officers.
Muise is now facing charges including dangerous driving, flight from police, resisting arrest, and two breaches.
The investigation continues.
