A St. John’s city councillor is calling on city officials and the province to remove a burnt-out pickup truck left abandoned in the Goulds.
The truck is off Shoal Bay Road, at the head of the East Coast Trail, and according to area councillor Carl Ridgley, was not insured.
Ridgley says the truck is an eyesore for those who use the trail to hike, and he fears the site may become an illegal dumping ground.
He says people who see garbage along a trail are more likely to dump garbage, and notes the trail should be better protected from further environmental damage.
