People accustomed to taking their strollers onto Metrobuses may encounter a significant change, albeit for a brief period of time.
The eight new hybrid buses added to the Metrobus fleet have a reconfigured seat layout that changes from rear-facing securement systems for wheelchairs, to forward facing.
Metrobus says now that stroller season has begun, they realized that, with the new seat layout, there wasn’t a safe place to put a stroller without obstructing the aisle.
The bus service is addressing that problem by removing a seat on each bus to provide space for a stroller.
Until that process is complete sometime next week, strollers will have to be folded up on the new hybrid buses.
