One of the most prolific authors in the history of the province has passed away.
Earl Pilgrim, who was born on the Northern Peninsula, penned 17 best sellers of local stories in Newfoundland and Labrador, including “Will Anyone Search for Danny” and “The Day Grenfell Cried.”
He was a wildlife officer in the Roddickton area and is credited with being instrumental in building a big game population on the Northern Peninsula.
He was also a championship boxer, having won the light heavyweight title.
Pilgrim, who was 85, was laid to rest yesterday.
