DFO has experts on site to help remove a foreign species of fish from a waterway on the west coast.

A high number of goldfish were spotted in Link Pond in Massey Drive a few days ago, leading to an investigation by DFO.

Evidence indicates at least two generations, suggesting the population has been established for some time.

It is illegal to introduce an aquatic species into a body of water where it is not native.

The department says it will be engaging with the community and meeting with town staff to talk about ways to address the issue.
