Municipalities NL is gearing up for the upcoming municipal elections, which are slated for this October.

The group has launched the ‘Make Your Mark’ campaign, aimed at encouraging people to run for local government and make a change in the community.

Deatra Walsh from Municipalities NL says she hopes to change the perspectives of those who might consider avoiding municipal politics.

She says whether you’re a grocery store clerk, or a stay-at-home mom, everyday candidates are best suited for a seat on council.

Municipal elections are slated for October 2nd.
