Residents of Musgrave Harbour will spend another night away from their homes.
The evacuation order remains in place.
The province says it understands the frustration felt by residents, but says that the “unprecedented” drought conditions that allowed the fire to start and move so rapidly, have also reduced the effect of rain earlier this week has had on the fire.
Fire behavior experts are still seeing a large number of hot spots according to the latest update issued this afternoon with smoldering ground fire and small flare ups along the edge closest to town.
That means that the risk to the town remains too high to allow residents back at this time.
