RNC have confirmed that a 30-year-old is dead as the result of a shooting on Salter Place in St. John’s around 10:30 this morning.

The incident resulted in a shelter in place advisory for Salter Place and surrounding streets, which was eventually expanded to Gros Morne Place as the investigation continued.

The advisory was lifted early this afternoon.

RNC are not releasing the identity of the victim at this time. Constable James Cadigan will provide an update on the investigation tomorrow at 2:00.

The investigation is active and ongoing and residents can expect a continued police presence as they carry out their work.
