The industry minister is hopeful that the leasing of the Bull Arm fabrication site will position the province well as the federal government rolls out its $9 billion dollar military spending commitment.
North Atlantic recently won the bid to lease the sprawling construction site.
Minister Steve Crocker says there is great potential at the site and he expects it will see increased interest and activity in the coming months and years.
“Right now one of the opportunities on the horizon is certainly national defence, and we want to make sure, as the Government of Canada makes those decisions in the coming weeks and months, that we’re there as a province positioned to be part of that.”
