The RNC is offering a few safety tips as festival season continues in the metro and surrounding region.
The Constabulary says substances can affect decision-making and lower awareness, which may increase the risk of harm.
The RNC say whether you’re at a party, a bar, beach or concert, plan ahead and have open conversations with your friends about ways to keep each other safe.
A few tips include agreeing to a buddy system and sticking with people you trust. Keep your phone charged and share your location with family and friends, keep your belongings secure, and watch your drink being made and do not leave it unattended.
RNC are also advising that if you feel drunker or more impaired than usual, call for medical assistance, especially if you show signs of illness or loss of consciousness.
And never drive impaired, arrange for a sober ride home.
